Linda Leslie (Haxton) Lindner was born November 30, 1957 in Fresno, CA, the daughter of Merle Haxton and Beatrice (Elosworth) Heath. After graduating High School, Linda went on to marry her best friend and soulmate, Richard George Lindner. Together they shared many years of love, memories and passion for the Lord. They heeded the call to share the gospel, taking missionary trips to Hattie and Jerusalem. Richard gave the ultimate sacrifice, passing away during his service in the United States military. She continued to carry the love for Richard in her heart and devoted the remainder of her life serving others and embracing life; enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. Linda cherished her family and any chance she had to spend time with her nieces and nephews. They often would go out camping and fishing. A life of the party, she would be the first to head out swimming or take everyone out on a hike through the trails. They took many family trips, anywhere from Wyoming to Kansas and Murtle Beach to Ontario, Canada. No matter what it was, she was up for an adventure and brought joy and life to all those around her. Linda could light up a room with her smile and would radiate with the love of Christ. She truly never met a stranger, ready to share the good news of Jesus with anyone she met. Linda possessed the biggest and most loving heart. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for others, whether for her family or a complete stranger. One thing was for sure, she loved the Lord above all. She was a Christian by faith and member of Christian Worship Center in Stilwell, OK. She was eager to lend a hand throughout many community outreach programs such as Feed My Sheep, shelters and singing at the local nursing home. On December 1, 2024 in Westville, OK, this good and faithful servant was called to meet her Lord and Savior at the age of 67 years old. Linda leaves a legacy of love that will carry on in the hearts of all that knew her.
She has gone on to join her husband, Richard George Lindner, her parents, Merle Haxton and Beatrice (Elosworth) Heath, two brothers, Fred Hollister and Jake Hollister along with one sister, Clyda Ann Shambough.
Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, John Haxton of Friendship, NY and sister, Janice Shea of Wellsville. She is also remembered by her adored nieces and nephews, Tish, Miranda, John, Ed, Kris, Stacy and Dawn along with many great nieces and nephews, numerous friends, church family and loved ones.
A Celebration of Life for Linda will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 7:00pm at Christian Worship Center in Stilwell. All are welcome for a time of sharing in her memory.
She will be laid to rest to join her beloved Richard at Acacia Park Cemetery in North Tonawanda, NY at a later date.
