Linda Kay (Pritchett/Degase) Parsons was born on June 2, 1957, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Louis and Jessie (Pritchett) Degase. She peacefully passed from this life on August 5, 2026, in Catoosa, Oklahoma, with her family by her side.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benjamin Parsons; and her brothers, Jerry Pritchett and Floyd Degase.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Melissa "Missy" (Pritchett) Dougherty; son-in-law, Allen Dougherty; and her favorite grandson, Jasper Dougherty. She is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Bardell, Debbie Degase, Claudean (Rick) Peace, and Pearline (Armando) Agustin; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
Linda was the middle child of seven children. Linda began working at Sixkillers BBQ at the age of 16. She later dedicated 22 years to caring for children in various daycares throughout the area before spending 21 years with Oklahoma Interpak in Muskogee. She also held several other jobs over the years. Following her retirement in 2019 due to medical reasons, Linda moved to Catoosa to live with her daughter and family. There she enjoyed spending her days honing her crafts, working puzzle books, traveling whenever she could, and creating treasured memories with her grandson.
She found happiness in life's simple pleasures. Linda loved reading, sewing, beading, bowling, playing co-ed softball, and completing word search puzzles. She never passed up the chance to stand outside and watch a thunderstorm roll in, loved classic Westerns like her father did, watching and participating in ghost hunting, and she faithfully traveled for 35 years wherever she needed to in order to watch her daughter play softball and never missed an opportunity to cheer her and all her teammates on. More than anything, she treasured every moment spent with her grandson, whom she loved beyond measure and delighted in spoiling.
Linda will be remembered for her love of family, her caring heart, her playful spirit, and her ability to make those around her smile. Her strong work ethic and the countless memories she created with those she loved will never be forgotten. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Reed-Culver Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Funeral Service for Linda will take place there on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 10:00am with Pastor Brent Williams officiating. She will be laid to rest at Moodys Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chandon Degase, Armando Agustin, Rusty Peace, Mateo Taylor, Justin Meeker, and Forrest Cully, with Allen Dougherty, Jasper Dougherty, Aidan Sanchez, and Robby Jones serving as honorary pallbearers.
