Lois O'Dell Roberts

Graveside services for Lois O’Dell Bradfield Roberts will be held on Thursday, June 4th, 2015 at Pettit Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Brother Kenneth Adams officiating. Online condolences for her family may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Lois O’Dell Bradfield Roberts was born on March 17th, 1922 in Greeley, CO, the daughter of Orla Ray and Grace (Taylor) Bradfield. Her Dad worked in the Lumber Industry, and moved with the need for lumber for construction projects and various other reasons. Lois graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, OK in 1940. Following high school, she attended the Tulsa College of Business. It was at this time she married her life long companion, James Harold Roberts, August 30th 1942. This union was blessed three daughters and two sons, Avis, Sharol, Carol, James Jr. and John. The family relocated to the Cookson Community on Lake Tenkiller in 1980, enjoying their family and community until James Sr. passed in 1998. Lois was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She loved caring for her family and worked hard to make sure all their needs were met. She was often found in the garden, especially flowers. She enjoyed reading and always had a book tucked under her arm. She could sew anything from quilts to cloths. She liked cooking, and made a great chicken dinner on Sundays. She brought her kids up in scouting, and made sure they attended church. She was outgoing, friendly, generous with her time and talents, and a loving friend. She was a member of the Cookson United Methodist church and made an effort to attend every function held at the church. Her health began to fail her and Lois went home to her Lord and Savior on May 28th, 2015 in Tahlequah, OK. She was 93 years old. She will be greatly missed for all the love and encouragement she gave to those she loved and treasured.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband James Roberts in 1998, and brothers Donald Bradfield and James Taylor Bradfield.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Avis Dianne Riley and husband Richard of Claremore, OK, Sharol Dean Anduss and husband Mike of Park Hill, OK, Carol Ann Martin and husband Mickey of Ft. Smith, AR, James Harold Roberts Jr. and wife Roberta of San Diego, CA, and John Quinton Roberts and wife Ruth of Broken Arrow, OK. She also leaves a many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
