Louise enjoyed a comfortable childhood and completed her education at Mount Royal High School in Montreal.
As a young adult, Louise traveled to the United States, living in several cities before settling in Wichita, Kansas. It was there that she met and married her husband, Phillip Christie, and together they welcomed their son, David. The family later moved to Joplin, Missouri, where Louise worked in medical offices.
After several years, the family relocated to Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to open a transmission repair business and to be closer to Phillip’s family. Louise managed the administrative side of the business and, following Phillip’s passing, took over its operation. She successfully ran the business for around five years before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma. During this time, she proudly became a United States citizen. Throughout her life, Louise worked in a variety of roles, including as a realtor and in the Language Services Department for a car rental company. She was also a dedicated volunteer at her church, where she was a longtime member.
On April 3, 2026, Louise would be called to her eternal home at the age of 84 years old. She had a warm and social spirit. She enjoyed being with people and formed many lasting and meaningful friendships over the years.
She is survived by her son, David Christie of Tulsa, Oklahoma; step-children, Ron and Nancy Christie of Wichita, Kansas; Sue Thurston of The Village, Oklahoma; Jim and Connie Christie of Richland, Missouri; Shirley Christie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Cynthia Stroud of Centerton, Arkansas; and as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be laid to rest alongside her cherish husband at Tahlequah City Cemetery at a later date.
