Margaret Belinda “Bendy” Eley passed from this earth unexpectedly and into the arms of the Lord on July 2nd, 2021 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Margaret was born in Ventura, CA on August 16th, 1949. She loved Oklahoma Sooner football, her morning cup of coffee, Conway Twitty, spicy foods, and The Price is Right. Not necessarily in that order. She hated dishes in the sink and socks on her feet. Not necessarily in that order.
Margaret is survived by her children, Beth Lucas and husband Art, Robert Lucas, Donna Walkingstick, Kim Owens and husband Mike, and Josh Lucas and wife Andrea; her grandchildren, Jen, Justin, Amber, Elizabeth, Brent, Matt, Nick, Christian, Melissa, Cara, Michelle, Michael, Krissy Jo, Patrick, Tate, Kyle, Kaleb, Brooklyn, and Emma; her great-grandchildren, Kristen, Serenity, Trace, Derek, Emmalee, Aedan, Destaney, Triniti, Lane, Taryn, Izaac, Khloe, Kayler, Briar, Jace, Taylor, Zenobia, Kyler, Joshua, Nova, Juliana, and Grayson; and many more close family and friends, including her sister, Shelly Cartlidge, and special friends Robert, Bruce, Sheri, and Mary.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Otis Medlin, daughter Kristen Brooks, parents, Samuel and Edna Forlines, brother, Roy Forlines, sisters, Donna Brand, and Mary “Meme” Henderson, and grandchildren, Tyler Owens, Jasmine, and Jessica Robbins.
Margaret was a devoted mom, Granny, and “GG”. She enjoyed Nothing more than snuggling her grandbabies and children to her bosom, no matter how old they were. She loved any sport, but particularly enjoyed watching her grandbabies play ball, and could often be found in the Fall yelling at the television while watching her beloved Sooners. In her final days, she was cared for by many who adored her including her two favorite nurses, Andrea and Jen.
Funeral Services for Margaret Belinda “Bendy” Eley will be held on Monday, July 5th, 2021 at 10:00am at Reed-Culver Chapel. Pallbearers for Margaret include Nick Medlin, Little Man, Matthew Lucas, Robert Lucas, Christian Tankersley, Justin Brooks, Brent Brooks, Josh Lucas and Jason Lucas. Honorary Pallbearers include, Sgt. Patrick Lucas, Michael Robbins, Jason Russell, Kyle Lucas, Arthur Wilder, Mike Owens, and Derek Alberty. She will be laid to rest at Tahlequah City Cemetery.
