Martha Grace Guydosh-Adams was born on April 13, 1921, the daughter of Michael and Anna (Lacko) Guydosh, in Homeville, Pa, and entered into the world alongside her twin sister, Virginia. She was raised in the home with her brother Edward, and sister, Margie. She was raised in a traditional Czechoslovakian family, learning to bake some of the old favorite pastries. She attended school then dropped out to help support the younger children during the depression. Money was scarce at best, and Martha worked as a beautician, keeping the younger children in school. It was then she met Andrew Adams, the man who won her heart, and asked for her hand. With the war still looming large on everyones mind, Andrew felt it necessary to go to the defense of his country. So the marriage was postponed until the triumphant return of Andrew from Europe. On May 18th, 1947 at Resurrection Church, Father James LaVelle joined them in holy matrimony. This union was blessed with three children, Michael, Mark and Jeanne, and lasted until Andrew’s passing in 1983. Martha was never one to let the grass grow under her feet. She worked constantly, and spent most of her working at Jones and McClure Realtors, and was one of the best in the business, working from 1964 until 1991. There was nothing better than time spent wither children and grandchildren, she was the best friend they ever had. She kept up with their activities and was their biggest supporters. After her husband passed, she moved to Ohio to be closer to her sister. She painted ceramics and set the bar for volunteering. She worked tirelessly for hospital, and later after her move to Tahlequah, she did the same at Remarkables, River City Players and Medical Records at City Hospital. She was forced to slow down following a back surgery in 2007. She continued to keep up with her family and volunteer at church as often as possible. She was devout, praying her Rosary daily and never missed a chance to help at whatever church she was attending. She was kind and compassionate, and blessed everyone around her with her servants heart. If she had time or talents you required, it was yours for the asking. Her smile was ever present and she was always there for advice, to hold the babies, and to serve. Her health began to fail her and the Lord called this kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend home from her labors on December 21st, 2017 in Tahlequah, with her family close by her side. She was 96 years old. She will be greatly missed for the love and strength she gave to those she loved.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, husband Andrew, her son Michael in 2013, her twin sister, Virginia Blasco in 2016, and her brother Edward.
