

On December 21st, 2016, Mary Helen Cox passed away of heart failure in Overland Park, Kansas. She previously lived in Hobbs, New Mexico, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Bonham, Texas. Chapel service for Mrs. Cox, age 94, will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 27th at Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Officiating will be Minister Steve Parker of South College Church of Christ. Burial will be at Tahlequah City Cemetery.
Mary Helen Jarrell was born September 24th, 1922 in Lamasco, Texas to the late John Jackson Jarrell and Julia Kate Wilks Jarrell. She was a baptized believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and member of the Church of Christ in Bonham, TX. She married Arvel "Bill" Cox in Huntington, Indiana on July 1st, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1981. Mrs. Cox was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lonnie Jarrell and Tom Ray Jarrell, and three sisters: Fannie Marie Jarrell, Dorothy M. Long, and Clara Faye Jarvis.
Helen and her husband had owned and operated several businesses including a dairy farm in Prairie Grove, Arkansas; a motel in Hobbs, New Mexico, and a donut shop in Hobbs called the SpudNut Shop.
Mary Helen Cox is survived by son, James Dale Cox and wife Carol of Overland Park, Kansas; granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Dillbeck and her husband Brian Dillbeck, three great-granddaughters : Sierra Rose Dillbeck, Chloe Lynn Dillbeck, and Genevieve Brynn Dillbeck, all of Overland Park, Kansas, and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
