Funeral services for Mary Alice Ishcomer will be held on Thursday, December 19th, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Echota Baptist Church with Pastor Gary “Dino” Leach officiating. The Echota Choir will provide the musical selections. Interment will be held at Echota Cemetery near Stilwell, OK. Online condolences for her family may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Mary Alice Ishcomer was born on January 17th, 1955 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Buck Ervin and Lois Nofire-Ishcomer. She was raised in Rocky Mountain area were she attended grade school and then later Sequoyah High School. She continued her education at NSU. She worked as a Customer Service Rep and florist. She enjoyed working with people. She was quick to smile and make you feel at home when you were around her. Mary Alice accepted Christ at age 11 and was baptized at Echota Baptist Church. Mary was involved in numerous church activities and was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church in Tulsa. She liked to curl up with a good book or make flower arrangements. She was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and loved to spend time just talking with people and friends. She was an avid fan of any music from the 60s and especially liked the Beatles and Paul Revere and the Raiders. She was always ready to spend time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She simply adored them. It didn’t matter if it was a holiday dinner or just a sunny afternoon get together, she couldn’t wait to see her family. The Lord called Mary Alice home from her labors on Sunday, December 15th, 2013 in Tulsa, OK. Mary Alice was 58 years old. She will be missed for all the love and happiness she brought to her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her Mom and Dad, Buck Ishcomer and Lois Ishcomer, grandparents, Jack Nofire and Mary (Mankiller) Nofire, Joshua Ishcomer and Alice Betty Watson, her great-niece, Amanda Nofire, her high school sweetheart, Jonathan Hiram Jake, and one nephew, Justin Case Mann.
Those left to celebrate her life include her daughter, Elizabeth Ishcomer of Tahlequah, OK, two sisters, Ervina Marshall and Susan Fields of Stilwell, OK. Her legacy lives on in her four grandchildren, Ahnawake Alyse Tiger, Taryn Starr Whitecrow, Byron Thunder Whitecrow, and Jonathan Jay Whitecrow, as well as many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
