

Mary D. Morrison the fourth child of twelve was born October 4, 1918 in Dalhart, Texas and departed this life April 3, 2010 in Parkhill, Oklahoma. Her family moved to Memphis, Texas in 1924 where her father and uncle ran a dairy farm. When she was 13 her family moved to Springer, New Mexico and at 16 she quit High School and married Harold W. McHodgkins in 1934. After several moves and several children they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. At the age of 25 her husband was drafted into the U.S. Army and was in Basic Training in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was killed in a truck accident during training leaving Mary a widow with five young children. Two years later in 1946 she married Russell H. Morrison. They bought a home and settled in the Southwest Valley of Albuquerque.
After working at a five and dime store, she decided to go back to High School with her children in 1954. She graduated in 1956 with her son Carrol. She then got a job with Civil Service at Kirkland Air Force Base. At her retirement 22 years later she was secretary to the Commanding Officer of Manzano Air Force Base. In 1988 her husband passed away making her a widow again.
She moved to Radcliff, Kentucky in 1997 to be near her oldest son Floyd McHodgkins. Then in 2007 she moved to Oklahoma to live with her daughter Arlene Kellner.
She and her husband were charter members of the Albuquerque Southside Church of the Nazarene. She took her faith seriously and set the example for her children. She was a dedicated mother, supporting her children by attending their various school and church activities. She faithfully served God and the church by teaching children in Sunday School, serving on the church board, as church treasurer, and as the church pianist. She received the Distinguished Service Award for her faithful service to the church in 2007.
She was preceded in death by her parents John W. and Elva (Kendall) Hagemeier, husbands Harold W. McHodgkins and Russell Morrison, 1 son: Carrol D. McHodgkins; 6 brothers: Loyd W., Lester E., Raymond D, Donald, Carl and William Hagemeier; and 2 sisters: Enid L. and Beulah Hagemeier.
She is survived by a loving family which includes 3 sons: Harold Floyd McHodgkins and wife Joyce of Radcliff, Kentucky, Lawrence R. McHodgkins and wife Carolyn of Yucca Valley, California, and Franklin G. McHodgkins and wife Yolonda of Pasedena, California; 1 daughter Dorothy Arlene Kellner and husband Fred of Parkhill, Oklahoma; 2 brothers: Wayne F. Hagemeier and Kenneth E. Hagemeier and wife Ruth all of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 1 sister: Lois A. Duke of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday April 9, 2010 at the Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Rev. Terry Stone officiating. Services entrusted to Reed-Culver Funeral Home Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
