Michael Danny Railey Sr.

Michael Danny Railey, Sr. was born March 2, 1951, in Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina. He passed on January 9, 2022 at 2:20PM at St Francis Hospital, Muskogee County, Muskogee, Ok at the age of 70 years, 10 months, and 9 days.

He is preceded in death by his father, William Elwood Railey Sr. (2003) and mother Virginia Carroll Stephens (2008).

Michael was raised in Texas and moved to Oklahoma in 1973. He was known to many by the big blue van with the red pipe wrench on the side. He began working as an apprentice plumber at a young age and progressed to Master Plumber level.

In about 1976, he started his own business as Mike’s Plumbing Service in Tahlequah. He also at one time had a retail business across the street from the old Redman Shoppe. His service was not limited to any certain location or to any particular plumbing need. Years to follow he added licensing for heat and air conditioning as well. If he had a regret, it would have been that he never pursued his electrical licenses.

He was a man of God. He knew him well and worshiped/prayed often. In his final days he told his wife he knew he was bad sick and it was ok…it was in God’s hands what would happen and he was at peace with it. He had a great appreciation for God’s creation. He could be found star gazing or to rise early to see the first rays of sun.

Michael leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Margie. Step Mother, Nonie Railey, Children: Michael (Micha) Railey Jr., Starmye Railey, Trampas Railey, Trevor Railey, Cary Weir. Grand Children: Durrell Mooney, Jarrod Railey, Dane’ Halpain, Daniel Railey, Denton Halpain. Great grandchildren: Isaiah Mooney, Jaida Railey, Chole Jo Mooney, Greyson Halpain. His beloved fur family, Buddy, Gypsy, Daisy, Maddie, Sugar and the evil cat Tabby.

Memorial services for Michael will be held on Friday, January 14th, 2022 at 10:00am at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Bobby Botts and Pastor Bill Pettit officiating.
