Michael Mayes Williams, age 46, passed away tragically on September 15, 2026. Born on February 4, 1980, Michael was a man of deep passion, fierce loyalty, and a protective spirit, yet beneath his strong exterior was an incredibly gentle and loving soul. He loved wholeheartedly, protected those closest to him, and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to truly know him.
Michael's life was not without its struggles, but his story was also one of love, change, and new beginnings. A little over a year ago, his life took a beautiful turn when he met Holland, whom he affectionately called "Holly." From the moment their lives came together, the two became inseparable. Holly was his anchor, his best friend, and the love of his life. She had a special way of understanding Michael, often knowing exactly what he was feeling without him ever having to say a word. She brought a sense of peace to his passionate personality and knew just how to calm his sometimes fierce and wonderfully unique "Michaeistic" ways.
Together, Michael and Holly shared a love that was genuine, unconditional, and deeply personal. They stood beside one another through life's challenges and celebrated its blessings together. With Holly, Michael discovered a love unlike anything he had ever known. The couple had recently celebrated their first month of marriage, moved into their first apartment together, and were looking forward to a promising new chapter as Michael began a new job. Their future was filled with hopes, dreams, and plans that were tragically interrupted far too soon. Though their time as husband and wife was heartbreakingly brief, the love they shared was immeasurable and will forever remain a part of Michael's story.
Family meant everything to Michael. He shared an especially close and loving bond with his mother, Anita Riggs, whom he loved more than words could ever express. It was not unusual for Michael to make the drive just to see her, wrap his arms around her, and give her a hug and kiss. Those simple moments of affection reflected the tenderness of his heart and the importance he placed on the people he loved.
Michael also held a special place in his heart for his nephews, particularly Logan and Adias, the children of his late brother, Chase. Following Chase's passing, Michael poured his love into the boys, doing his best to be a source of strength, comfort, and encouragement in their lives. His devotion to them was a reflection of the deep love he carried for his brother and the family bond that could never be broken.
Michael was a man who felt deeply, loved fiercely, and lived with a passion that was uniquely his own. Those who knew him understood that behind his strong personality was a heart capable of extraordinary tenderness. He was protective of those he loved, generous with his affection, and never afraid to show just how much his family meant to him. His life reminds us that a person's story is not defined by the struggles they have faced, but also by the love they give, the growth they experience, and the lives they touch along the way.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Michael R. Williams, who passed away on May 24, 1998, and his beloved brother, Chase Riggs, who passed away on February 16, 2025.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Holland "Holly" Williams, who continues her own journey of recovery; his cherished mother, Anita Lynn Williams-Riggs ; his sister, Nicole Williams Green, and husband Nathan of Wagoner, Oklahoma; his brother, Ronnie Parker; his beloved nephews, JaKobi (Parker) Brown, Logan Grand, and Adias Riggs; along with a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Michael's sudden passing has left an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him that words cannot begin to describe. There is comfort in the thought of Michael being reunited with his father and his brother Chase, both of whom he dearly missed. While his time on earth ended far too soon, the love he gave, the memories he created, and the impact he made will continue to live on.
Michael will be remembered not for the challenges of his past, but for the love he found, the family he cherished, and the man he was becoming. His story is one of second chances, unconditional love, and the preciousness of every moment we are given with those we hold dear.
Though he is gone from our sight, Michael will never be gone from our hearts. His love lives on in Holly, in his family, and in every life he touched.
A memorial service honoring and celebrating the life of Michael Mayes Williams will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 2:00pm at God's Shining Light Church, located at 9897 E. 11th Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74128.
