Neta Ann (Vead) Macias was born on April 28th, 1964 in Pineville, LA, the daughter of Joseph and Sylvia (Chesne) Vead. She attended school and was raised in a family with two brothers and two sisters, Lloyd known as “Lucky”, Monte and two sisters, Hope and Kathy. Then she met Ruben Ramon Macias. They fell in love and married, and together they raised three sons, Dennis, Joseph, and Rey. Neta loved taking care of Ruben and the boys, and was the best cook in the neighborhood, her Cajun cooking was a true treat, and she could cook anything that she wanted. She loved doing jewelry and bead work, reading a good book, and curling up to watch a detective documentary, real life stories, and legal and court shows. She worked at various restaurants and her cooking always made them coming back for more. She possessed a delightful smile, and warm personality, and was just ornery enough to pull off a joke or two. When she was growing up, she knew no strangers and treated everyone like a welcomed guest. She knew her mind and spoke it freely, yet was the “Mom” to everyone in the neighborhood, when they needed her. She adored her grandchildren and loved being “Gigi” to all of them. She loved any chance to gather them all together for a holiday and make them marvelous things to eat and hear their laughter. For all of the things in life she still wanted to see and do, her time on earth ended on July 4th, 2023 in Tahlequah, OK, surrounded by her family. She was 59 years old and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother and father, Joseph and Sylvia Vead, one brother, Lucky Vead, and other family members.
Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Ruben Ramon Macias, and her son, Dennis Vead and wife Megan of Hulbert, OK, Joseph Macias and wife Shayna of Tahlequah, and Rey Macias and companion Tiffany West of Tahlequah. She will live on in her 8 grandchildren, Alona Bailey, Madison Baine, McKenna Macias, Angela Munoz, Caden Vead, Eli Vead, Myiah Macias, and Remy Macias, and a Uncle Carl Dupont as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
