

Funeral services for Norma Lee Holmes-Drywater will be held on Friday, January 22nd, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Brother Bill Holcomb officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21st, 2016 from noon until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment will be held at Barber Cemetery. Pallbearers for Norma include Billy Whitekiller, Charlie Orick, Billy Whitehead, George Hogner, Big Joe Drywater, and Jim Holmes. Honorary pallbearers include Henry Todd and Elvin Drywater.
Norma Lee Holmes-Drywater was born on Christmas Day, December 25th, 1953 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Rufus and Jessie Mae (Hooper) Holmes. She grew up in the Tahlequah area, along with her sister and two brothers, Charlene, James, and David. In 2001, she married Phillip Drywater in Ft. Smith, AR. Together they attended softball games, Pow-Wow’s, stomp dances, many community events. They loved any time spent with family, watching her grandchildren at sporting events or school programs, or a holiday dinner with the family all together. Norma always saw to the needs of her family, and friends, never asking anything for herself. She was loving, patient, and kind. Her smile instantly made you feel like you had been friends for a long time. She was optimistic, seeing the good in everyone she met. Norma passed from this life to her Eternal home on January 16th, 2016 in Muskogee, OK following illness. She was 62 years old. She will be greatly missed.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Phillip of the home in Tahlequah, OK. She leaves her son, Kenny Drywater of Ft. Gibson, OK and her daughter, Tammy Drywater of Tulsa, OK. Her brothers and sister include James Holmes of Okay, OK, David Holmes of Muskogee, OK, and Charlene Bottger and husband Steve of Agra, OK and her aunt, Rachel McCoy.
She leaves three grandchildren, Shanea Drywater of Tahlequah, Brittany Drywater of Tulsa, OK, and Shelby Riggs of Tahlequah, OK. She also leaves her nephews, Johnny Bottger and Seth Bottger, nieces, Serena Holmes and Nikki Holmes, three great nieces, one great nephew, many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
