Patsy Lee Hamby was born on March 13th of 1933 in Welling, OK, the daughter of Riley Vann and Annie Mae (Brackett) Keys. She was raised along with one brother, Bill Keys and one sister, Elizabeth (Keys) Hamby. She grew up in the Welling area, and attended school at Welling. She and her siblings spent much of their time on the creek. She met and married the love of her life and her best friend, Glenn Hamby on January 30th, 1947. Together they raised a family of two sons, Glenn Dale Jr and Daryl Hamby all of Tahlequah. She was a dedicated care giver all the days of her life. She worked at Oklahoma Production Center and loved each and every one of her many clients she cared for during her time. When her mother’s health began to fail her, Patsy took her in, and loved her and cared for her many needs. Her family was first and foremost with Patsy. She was fiercely devoted, and was generous with her time, talents and her undivided attention. She went out of her way to make her house a home for her husband, children, family and visitors. She loved time spent with her many grand and great grandchildren, and was there for them from the time of their birth til they left home to start their own lives. She loved to sew and used it as a creative outlet. She was an amazing cook and especially loved to bake. She endured the loss of her husband Glenn, mother and father, her Step-Father Perry Jones, her brother Bill, her sister, Elizabeth, many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Christian by faith, Patsy passed from this life on November 1st, 2024 in Tahlequah, OK, surrounded by those that loved her. She was 91 years old and can never be replaced.
She is survived by her loving sons, Glenn Dale Hamby Jr and Daryl Hamby both of Tahlequah, OK. She lives on in her grandchildren, Glenn Dale Hamby III, Samantha Azar, Desiree Hamby and Crystal Calixto-Arce. She also leaves her precious great grandchildren, Makayla Alverson, Jerod Alverson, Rylan Gonzales and Maylie Arnet, all of Oklahoma. Also, Kiarra Ferrone, Esquin Bocanegra, Luisa Bocanegra, Aiden Yebra, Alarys Yebra, Lacreda Supernaw and Jakenzie Calixto, all of Tennessee. She also leaves many nieces and nephews, and cousins as well as a host of friends and loved ones far too many to mention.
Funeral Services for Patsy Lee Hamby will be conducted on Friday, November 8th, 2024 at Reed-Culver Chapel with Reverend David Wiens officiating. Her family will receive guests on Thursday, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel. She will join her husband, Glenn Hamby at Tahlequah City Cemetery for her final resting place.
