Funeral services for Paul Lee Sumpka will be held on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018 at 12:30 OM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Brother Rufus Hooper and Brother Henry Birdtail officiating. He will available for visitation on Wednesday beginning at 9:00 AM until service time. He will be laid to rest at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Military Honors provided by Ft. Paul Lee Sumpka was born on Tuesday, October 13th, 1953 in Waterloo, IA, the son of Robert Lee and Elizabeth Jane (Sourjohn) Sumpka. He was raised in a family with three brothers and one sister, Jobie Levi, Albert Taylor, Okeefe Lee and Rita Lou. On March 29th, 1976, Paul was enlisted in the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge on January 21, 1977. Paul worked as a tree trimmer for most of his life. He enjoyed being out doors and liked landscaping. Whenever he had a little free time on his hands, he was always up for a game of dominoes or cards. He was easy going and never met a stranger. He had the kind of smile that made you feel like you had known him all your life. He was the proud dad of his daughter, Lisa, and always enjoyed seeing his grandchildren. He enjoyed the peace and quiet of a sunset . A Christian by faith, the Lord called this kind and gentle man home from his labors on May, 17th, 2018 in Muskogee, OK with his loved ones by his side. He was 64 years old.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers, Jobie Fields Sr., Albert Taylor Fields, Okeefe Lee Sumpka and one sister, Rita Lou Sumpka.
He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Sumpka of Tulsa, OK, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one very special niece, Sonja Lawson, as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
