Randy Hooper

Randy Hooper was born September 16, 1971 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Roy Sanders and Narcie (Hooper) Holcomb. He was a proud graduate of Sequoyah High School, where he played football and developed a lifelong love for the Sequoyah Indians. Throughout the years, he remained one of their biggest supporters, faithfully attending football and basketball games and cheering on the teams he loved. Following high school, Randy attended classes at Haskell University, continuing his education before starting the work force. He devoted many years as a machine operator for Oklahoma Interpak.

A devoted sports fan, Randy was a fan of OU Football and the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was also a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan and rarely missed the opportunity to cheer for his favorite teams. Randy found peace in the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting for crawdads, and spending time wandering his yard while tending to his game chickens. He took great joy in raising them and cared deeply for all of his many animals. His love of nature and simple country living.

When relaxing at home, Randy enjoyed watching Ice Road Truckers, Ax Men, Family Guy, and South Park. Many evenings were spent doing one of his favorite things—taking an easy drive down the backroads, enjoying the quiet and the scenery. Above all else, Randy treasured the love of his life, Mary and his family. He loved spending time with those he held dear, especially his beloved grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Papa." Whether gathered around the table for a good meal or simply enjoying each other's company, Randy cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by family.

On August 4, 2026, Randy passed away at the age of 54, leaving behind a lifetime of memories cherished by his family and friends. His kind heart, fun spirit, and love for those closest to him will be remembered always.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Sanders and Narcie Holcomb and grandchild, Jenesis Baldwin.

He will be remembered by his wife, Mary Lou Cheater, of the home, his three daughters, Andrea Hooper of Tahlequah, OK, Marquita Girdner of Drycreek, OK and Stacey Baldwin of Vian, OK. He also leaves three brothers, Johnny Hooper of Phoenix, AZ, Rick Holcomb and Charley Holcomb, both of Tahlequah, OK. His memory lives on through his eight grandchildren, A’iyana Cox, Rylann Hooper, Mark Girdner Jr., Taylor Girdner, Rachel Girdner, Brooklyn Saenz, and Michael Reed, four great-grandchildren, Onyx Green, Emazia Green, Chance Saenz and Chase Saenz, along with his nieces and nephews, Saniesta Gregory, Johnathon Holcomb, Tywill Holcomb, all of Tahlequah, OK, Brian Hooper, Kerri Hooper, and Kimberly Hooper, all of Phoenix, AZ, as well as many cousins, friends and loved ones.

Visitation for Randy will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 10:00am at Barber Cemetery with Pastor DJ McCarter officiating.

Pallbearers will be Alex Wacoche, Bub Girdner, Marc Girdner Sr., Rodger Soap, Bob Holmes, Ryan Hooper, and Zack Cheater, with honorary pallbearers John Soap Jr., Marc Girdner Jr., Johnathon Holcomb, Tywill Holcomb, Little Bear Gregory, Eddie Mounce, and Tywill Holcomb.
