Rebecca Holmes, 81, of Cookson, Oklahoma, passed away on June 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 22, 1945, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rebecca built a life centered on faith, family, kindness, love, and the simple joys that made every day meaningful.
She married the love of her life, Henry, and together they shared a remarkable 44 years together. A devoted homemaker, Rebecca had a gift for making a house feel like home. Whether she was stitching together one of her beautiful handmade quilts, or welcoming loved ones with a warm smile and a snack, she had a way of making everyone feel cared for and loved. Her greatest joy came from the people she loved, and she poured her heart into creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
Rebecca's faith was the foundation of her life. She loved attending church and found strength and comfort in the Lord throughout every season of life. Her faith shaped the way she loved others, cared for her family, and lived with quiet grace. She also found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved sewing, working word searches and jigsaw puzzles, playing dominoes, thrift shopping, watching sports, listening to Elvis Presley and Loretta Lynn, and never missed an opportunity to enjoy a good Clint Eastwood movie. Rebecca’s favorite holiday was Christmas, where she loved meticulously decorating her tree and entertaining family. She was also well known for making what her family proudly considered the best cornbread dressing around.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Holmes; her son, Henry Holmes Jr.; her stepsons, Manuel Holmes, and Richard Holmes; her stepdaughter, Joyce James; her daughter-in-law Annah Jones; her parents, Albert Jones and Violet (Burnett) Jones; her brothers, Harold, Raymond, Lee, Moses, and David; and her sisters, Lottie, Ethel, Florene, Daisy, and Shirley.
Rebecca's legacy lives on through her children, Tony Jones, Bonnie Jones, Evelyn Adair, and stepdaughter, Mildred Bolin; her brother, Howard Jones; her grandchildren, Candice Vann, Sommer Adair, Holly Jones, Joni Walema, Tiffany Haeberle, Amber Reece, and Gayla Teehee; 17 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed to know her.
Rebecca will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
