

Ricky Eugene Hornett, or simply Rick by family and friends, was born May 17, 1963 in Dallas, TX. Rick was the only child of Bernice Hornett. He spent his childhood growing up in Tahlequah, OK, where he attended local schools and graduated from Tahlequah High School.
Throughout his life, Rick worked in food service at a variety of establishments, earning the respect of coworkers and customers alike through his friendly nature and strong work ethic. He had a gift for making people smile and was known for his sense of humor, often joking around and bringing laughter to those around him.
Rick enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He loved watching television, spending time on his computer, and playing games. He also enjoyed fishing whenever he had the opportunity, finding peace and relaxation by the water.
Those who knew Rick remember him as someone who was liked by everyone he met. His easygoing personality, warm heart, and ability to connect with others made him a treasured friend and companion. He shared an especially close bond with his mother, Bernice, whose love and support remained an important part of his life.
On June 2, 2026, Rick passed from this life in Tulsa, OK at the age of 63 years old. Rick's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and the joy he brought to others.
He is preceded in death by his two aunts, Maggie Wilson and Lucille Nichols, two uncles, Ned Wilson and Julian Hornet, and cousin, Randy Hornet.
He will be remembered by his mother, Bernice Hornett, one aunt, Lou Burnett, cousins, Carl and Janis Hornet and Thompson Hornett, good friends and co-workers at Subway and many other loved ones.
Graveside Services for Rick will be held on June 10, 2026 at 2:00pm at New Hope Cemetery in Hulbert with Pastor DJ McCarter officiating.
