NEWSPAPER OBITUARY FOR RICKEY DARRIAS ANDREWS Tahlequah, OK- A Celebration of the Life of Rickey D. Andrews will be held on Saturday, December 10th, 2011 at 5:30 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church at the intersection of College and Delaware Street in Tahlequah. Rickey Darrias Andrews was born on August 20, 1953 in Tahlequah, OK the son of Hank and Opal (Lawley) Andrews. He attended school in Berryhill and graduated from Tahlequah High School. Rickey , or “Rick” to his friends, was a man of diverse talents. He was a music and movie fanatic. He could watch a movie and give you the details and trivia that accompanied the movie. He owned and operated “Vidiot”, a video store in Tahlequah. He was also available to help you find the book you wanted to read at “Daydreamer” bookstore in Tahlequah. Rick was an avid reader in a wide variety of topics and very talented on the computer. Rick was friendly and cheerful. He found people interesting and loved to exchange facts and trivia. He possessed a quick wit and an even quicker mind. He loved time spent at museums and places of interest collecting facts on anything and everything, then sharing the knowledge with anyone that wanted to learn. He loved time sharing love and laughter with his daughters and stepchildren and his best friend, Diane. Rick’s health had begun to fail him and he was no longer able to keep up as he would have liked. He died on December 4th, 2011 . He will be greatly missed by his loving companion, Diane, his children, and his many family and friends he has made in his lifetime. Rickey was 58 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Samuel “Pete” Craig, Howard Craig, and two sisters, Shirley Tucker-McKinley, and Gail Whitsen . Those left to cherish his memory include his loving companion, Diane Hammons of the home and two daughters, Sherri and Ron Weiss of Tulsa, OK and Samantha Andrews of Miami, OK. He also leaves two step-children, Jordan Blalock and Jessica Blalock all of the home. Rickey will be missed by his sister, Maxine Hays of Tahlequah, OK and one half sister, Annie Rogers. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren, Dustin Andrews and Kirsten Carrico, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
