Ronald Gerald Reeves was born on September 2, 1955, in Lubbock, Texas, to Burton and Betty (Baggett) Reeves. He grew up alongside his brother, Roger, and two sisters, Judy and Vicki. Due to his father’s work, the family moved frequently throughout his childhood. Wherever life took him, Ron developed a love for sports, especially football. That passion stayed with him throughout his life, as he faithfully cheered for the Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, Oklahoma Sooners, and Oklahoma State Cowboys.
After high school, Ron found himself in Fort Collins, Colorado, working for the Sheriff’s Department. It was there that he met a fellow officer who would become the love of his life, Linda Christine Snyder. Ron and Linda were married on October 7, 1989, in Colorado, beginning a beautiful life together filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Ron later began a career as a cross-country truck driver, and he and Linda made their home in Paxton, Nebraska. Following a back injury, Ron and Linda eventually relocated to Oklahoma to be closer to family, where they began farming together. Ron loved his farm and took great pride in the life they built.
Of all the things Ron accomplished throughout his life, his greatest achievement was the loving family he cherished and the meaningful role he played in their lives. A kind, humorous, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ron found his greatest happiness in being surrounded by those he loved. Family was always his highest priority, and he treasured every holiday, Sunday gathering, and opportunity to spend time together.
Ron had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. He was quick with a smile, always ready for a good conversation, and genuinely interested in the people around him. Whether discussing the weather, football, history, politics, his beloved farm, or his Catholic faith, Ron always had something to share. His family could count on him for wisdom, advice, encouragement, and unconditional love and support. His warmth, humor, and guidance left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A devoted Catholic, Ron was a member of St. Brigid’s Catholic Church in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where he was a beloved part of the parish family. His faith remained an important part of his life and provided him with strength through difficult times.
Life was not always easy for Ron. He endured considerable pain and challenges resulting from injuries throughout his life, yet he continued to face each day with determination, faith, and a smile. Despite his struggles, he never lost sight of what mattered most: his family, his faith, and the love he shared with others.
On October 9, 2026, the Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his earthly labors. Ron passed away at his home in Hulbert, Oklahoma, at the age of 71. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, his legacy lives on through the countless memories, lessons, laughter, and love he shared throughout his life.
Ron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Armin and Eloise Ada (Masters) Reeves and Edward and Ellen Jane (Pickering) Baggett; his parents, Burton and Betty (Baggett) Reeves; his daughter, Amy Aguilar, who passed away in 2021; and his brother, Roger Reeves.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 37 years, Linda Reeves, of the home; his children, April Simon of Alaska, Renee Reeves of Colorado, Heather Randolph and husband Scot of Colorado, and Toben Aguilar of Oklahoma; and his two sisters, Judy Nation and Vicki Reeves, both of Louisiana.

His memory also lives on through his 10 cherished great-grandchildren: Isabella Aguilar, Asa Aguilar, Ava Aguilar, Ada Aguilar, Tatum Aguilar, Jordan Aguilar, Mia Aguilar, Andres Aguilar, Marley Horn, and Mariela Horn; and his one very special great-great-grandchild, Josias Aguilar.
Ron is also survived by his nephew, Clif Reeves and wife Joann of Louisiana; their children, Raylan Reeves and Vivian Reeves; his niece, Raelyn Reeves of Washington; his sister-in-law, Joann Reeves of Louisiana; and many dear friends and members of his church family who will forever cherish his memory.
Ron will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the love he gave so freely. His greatest legacy is the family he helped build, the values he passed down, and the countless lives he touched along the way. His laughter, wisdom, kindness, and unwavering love will remain in the hearts of his family for generations to come.
