Ronald Wayne Russell was born on Thursday, December 22nd, 1955 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Wayne L. and Bessie (Rackleff) Russell. He grew up with one brother and two sisters, Danny, Teresa, and Vicki. He graduated in 1974 from Oaks Mission School and began his working career. Ron worked in several places, with a majority of his career at Webb Wheel as a machinist and finally working for Cherokee Nation at the Siloam Springs Casino. When he wasn’t working and before his health deteriorated, he loved hunting and fishing, alone in the woods or by a creek, enjoying the peace and solitude. He was fond of a round of golf with his dad, brother Danny and nephew Ryan and time spent with his friends and family. Ron was known to tinker on cars or any kind of auto mobile and relax out on the porch with his feline companions. He was a good son, brother, neighbor and friend. He was always willing to help anyone that asked and never expected anything in return. His health began to fail him and Ron was not able to leave his home much, but loved the Rocky Ford community and all the people there. He passed from this life on Sunday, January 20th, 2019 at his home in Rocky Ford. He will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Martha Smith, and Johnny and Nancy (Tail) Rackleff, and his father.
Those left to celebrate his life include his mother, Bessie Russell of Rocky Ford, one brother and two sisters, Danny L. Russell and wife Dellakay of Oaks, OK, Teresa Million and husband Leo of Rose, OK, and Vicki Coppedge and husband Todd also of Rose. He leaves one son, James Allen Larson of Ada, OK and one daughter, Jennifer Dawn Kirby of Kansas, OK. He is remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
