Ronald “Chops” Turtle was born August 5, 1966, to Curley Turtle and Susie (Cochran) Turtle. He grew up in Oaks, Oklahoma where he graduated from Oaks Mission High School. Ronnie played baseball at Connors State College until he suffered a sports injury. He worked as a maintenance man after obtaining his HVAC certification. Chops also enjoyed playing golf when he was able to.
Ronnie was the kind of uncle everyone hopes for - supportive, loving, and always present.
He found joy in cheering on his nieces, nephews, and great - nephews at their ballgames proudly standing on the sidelines, and cheering from the stands as one of their biggest fans. As a devoted OU fan, he rarely missed the chance to watch his Sooners on the football field and softball diamond. He was an avid Bigfoot Hunter, never missing the opportunity to recount the latest encounter he heard about.
Family meant everything to Ronnie. He cherished family get togethers and dinners always showing up with a smile. If someone was in need, Ronnie was there to lend a helping hand without hesitation and did not expect anything in return. Ronnie loved the Lord, with his whole heart, and was not ashamed to let anyone know.
Chops is preceded in death by his parents, Curley Turtle and Susie (Cochran) Turtle; his brother, Adam Turtle; and his nephew, Joe Turtle.
Chops is survived by his brothers, Charles Turtle of Oaks, Oklahoma, David Turtle of Oaks, Oklahoma, and Tommy Turtle and his wife, Georgia, of Kansas, Oklahoma; his sisters Lena Rogers of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Ronda May of Plattsburg, Missouri; his nephews and nieces, Kevin Chane Rogers, Brandi Sanders, Dustin Rogers, Karla Welch, Kody Welch, and Chaney Bendabout; his great nieces and nephews, Taylor Armbrister, Katlin Foreman, Kaden Rogers, Tamara Gilmore, Dewayne "3-D" Bendabout, Landon Fields, Tristan Anglin, Ashlynn Welch, Spencer Bendabout, Isabella Bendabout, Lawson Welch, Hunter Sanders, Jaxon Rogers, and Amiah Rogers.
