Roy Leon Lowrey

Roy Leon Lowery was born on November 25th, 1963 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of William Nave and Nancy Jean (Ragsdale) Lowrey. He grew up in a home with his four brothers, Charlie, William Nave Jr., James and Michael. He attended school then began his career as a carpenter working in construction. He married Peggy Gibson and together they raised four sons, Roy Lowrey Jr., JD Lowrey, Cord Allen Lowrey and Toby Gibson. Roy was a kind hearted man, friend and neighbor that everyone wished to have. He loved the great out doors and spent his extra hours fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, noodling for catfish, drinking a cold beer with his buddies, or four wheeling with his friends. There was nothing better than going to car shows with his mom, singing with his niece, especially country music, or watching the sun set in his back yard with his faithful canine companions Gypsy and Toughy by his side. There wasn’t anything Roy couln’t fix, he was always available when his friends and neighbors needed something done, and it was done with a big grin and an attitude you were no trouble at all. If he had it, it was yours for the asking. Roy died all too soon on July 25th, 2018 in Tahlequah, OK. He leaves a void that will never be filled, and memories that will never fade. He was 54 years old.

Roy is preceded in death by his father William Nave Lowrey Sr., his wife, Peggy Gibson Lowrey, two brothers, Chuckie Lowrey and William Nave Lowrey Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Nancy Jean Lowrey of Tahlequah, and his four sons, Roy Lowrey Jr and wife Deanna of Welling, OK, JD Lowrey of Keys, OK, Cord Allen Lowrey and wife Shambrie of Keys, OK and Toby Gibson. He leaves two brothers, James Robert Lowrey and wife Angela of Gore, OK, and Michael Shane Lowrey of Keys, OK. He lives on in his grandchildren, William Lowrey, Nathan Lowrey, Chase Lowrey, Hunter Lowrey, Cambrie Lowrey and Tristan Dale Gibson, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
