

Cookson, OK- Graveside services for Sandra Kay Rothhammer will be held on Wednesday, May 16th, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Cookson-Proctor Cemetery. Her family will pay homage and celebrate her life as was her wishes.
Honorary pallbearers for Sandra include Bob Heflin, Chester Dean, Patrick Swagerty, Joe Swagerty, Bill Swagerty, and John Swagerty.
Sandra Kay Rothhammer was born on September 21st, 1941 in Tulsa, OK the daughter of Chester and Hazel (Curry) Rothhammer. She moved to the Tenkiller Lake area in the early 1970’s where she raised her four sons with her husband, Bill Swagerty. She later married Ed Goff and adopted his children, Bobby and Rebecca Goff. She attended OSU and obtained her Masters Degree in Public Administration. She was a devoted mother of five sons and one daughter and loved to spend time talking with her family and gathering for a special holiday meal. Sandra was an exceptionally good cook. She loved to spend time in her garden and could lose herself for hours in history books. She was an avid Yankees Baseball fan and never missed a game. She was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and a great laugh that lit up a room, and was a familiar face at the Heritage Printing Office and loved talking to people and sharing a laugh. She dearly loved the lake area and after being gone for an extended period of time, and experiencing many changes in the course of her life, she eventually returned home to Cookson, where she said she wanted to live until she died. Sandra’s health began to fail her and she passed from this life on Friday, May 11th, 2012 in Cookson at her home, just as she wanted. She was 70 years, 7 months, and 20 days old. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends she loved at Cookson.
Sandra is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and her beloved son, Steven Merle Swagerty.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Billy Harold Swagerty Jr. of Cookson, OK, Michael Joe Swagerty of Tulsa, OK, John David Swagerty and wife Deann stationed in Stuttgard, Germany, Bobby Goff of Tulsa, OK, and Rebecca Goff-Marshall and husband Gerald of Tulsa, OK. She leaves one sister, Barbara Heflin and husband Bob of Hulbert,OK . Sandra’s legacy lives on in her seven grandchildren, Michelle Mauze, Patrick Swagerty, Lori Swagerty, Christopher Swagerty, Brendon Swagerty, Lisa Swagerty, and Kelli Swagerty, nine adored great grandchildren, as well as many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
