Saundra Kay “Sandy” Warren, 73, of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on October 5, 2026, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was born March 22, 1953, in Wagoner, Oklahoma, to Troy Lee Walker and Naomi Faye (Cook) Walker.
Sandy spent much of her life caring for, teaching, and doing for others. She worked as a special education teacher, a role that suited the patience and heart she carried with her. Her love for teaching also extended to her church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She had a way of giving her time to others and making it simply feel like part of who she was.
At home, Sandy was happiest keeping her hands busy. She loved gardening and sewing, and she certainly enjoyed a good shopping trip. The kitchen was another place where she shined. Sandy loved to cook, and anyone lucky enough to sit at her table knew there was something especially good waiting for them. Her biscuits and gravy, in particular, earned a reputation of their own and will be hard to ever quite duplicate.
But more than any hobby, career, or favorite pastime, Sandy's life was centered around the people she loved. She shared her life with her husband, Curtis Warren, and together they built a family that grew through the years to include their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Those ordinary days spent together, meals around the table, conversations, laughter, and the familiar comfort of having Sandy nearby became the pieces of life that now mean the most.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Troy Lee Walker; her brother, Rocky Walker; and her special friends, Jack and Donna Dillard.
She leaves behind her husband, Curtis Warren; her son, Curtis Landon Warren; her daughters, Cynthia Cannedy and Cristy Cole; her brothers, Troy Walker and Perry Walker; and her sister, Glenda Burnley. Sandy also leaves nine grandchildren: Steffan Davidson, Hunter Davidson, Haylie Troxtell, Dustin Cannedy, Libby Cannedy, Josh Cole, Christian Cole, Lizzie Cole, and Zac Cole; along with six great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
Sandy's life was made up of the things that matter most: work she cared about, faith she shared, a home she tended, and people she loved. Those are the pieces of her that will continue to be carried forward by the family she leaves behind.
