Sarah Lee (Gladd) Baker was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on July 9, 1937. Sarah was one of ten kids born to Joseph B. (Tang) Gladd and Fannie Pauline (Lowery) Gladd. Sarah passed from this life on November 14, 2025 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 88 years.
Sarah graduated from Tahlequah High School in 1955. She married Charley D. (Sonny) Baker, Jr. on June 9, 1956 in Tahlequah, OK and together they had two daughters. During that time, Sarah served as a crossing guard for Sequoyah Elementary School where she had the opportunity to walk her grandchildren safely to the station for them to hang out after school. Together they owned the station for 31 years before retiring.
Sarah was known for her dedication to caring for her family, including her mother for 15 years before her passing. She had a passion for gardening, baking and animals, particularly horses and loved to go on trail rides. She was a wonderful cook and would always try to feed you when you entered her home.
