Saundra Kay Richmond entered this world on July 23, 1953, in Torrance, California. Raised in Garden Grove, she attended Bolsa Grande High School, where her bright spirit and strong sense of justice quickly became part of her identity. She loved spending time at Huntington Beach, enjoying the sun and surf, every year she looked forward to the Strawberry Festival, an event she cherished.
As a teenager, Saundra carried a touch of rebelliousness, always standing firmly for what she believed was morally right. During the return of Vietnam soldiers, she spoke passionately about honoring service members, proudly wearing several POW/MIA bracelets and advocating for their recognition during a controversial time.
Saundra later made her home in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where she dedicated her life to raising her son, Levi Richmond Diffee, who remained her greatest pride. Her three granddaughters—Danica Diffee, Elizabeth Dreadfulwater, and Mariah Williams—were constant sources of joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Saundra passed from this life on June 10, 2026 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years old.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert W. and Evelyn E. Richmond (Gay); her paternal grandparents, Elbert W. and Anna E. Richmond (Alberts); her maternal grandparents, Ted and Maggie L. Gay (Ratliff); and her sister, Susan Yvonne Burr (Richmond).
She leaves behind her son, Levi Richmond Diffee and one sister, Virginia Yanez, along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends who will forever miss her presence.
