Sharon "Shari" Kay White Yell

Funeral services for Sharon Kay “Shari” Yell will be held on Friday, April 15th, 2016 at 11:00 AM at D.D. Etchieson United Methodist Church with Reverend Wayne Bailey officiating. Interment will be held at Swimmer Cemetery. Online condolences for her family may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Pallbearers for Shari include Jimi White, Zechariah Rice, Joey Corn, Jeff Vann, Christopher Watkins, and Zachary Watkins. Honorary Pallbearers are Edward Yell, Maxwell Yell, Julian Yell, and Bobby Watkins. Flower Girls include Hannah Yell, Abigail Cook, Amber Watkins, and Addison Watkins.

Sharon Kay “Shari” Yell was born on March 30th, 1951 in Tahlequah, OK, to Jimmie and Laura White. On November 20th, 1971, she married Dale Yell. Their union was blessed with four children, one boy and three girls. Eventually those blessings, blessed her even more with her nine beloved grandkids.

Her early years would be the beginning of a constant thread that would run through her whole life, her love for her family. First her parents, whose light and guidance shined for Shari the rest of her life. Then her eight brothers and sisters, whose bond was never bent or broken. Her marriage to Dale, that brought forth her four kids. Her nine grandkids and countless other children who called her grandma.

Shari loved many things. She loved to sew. She loved The Beatles. She loved bread, but more than anything in the world, she loved her family; her parents, her brothers and sisters, her husband, her children, and especially her grandkids. There was never anything she wouldn't do for any member of her extended family. Her indelible mark will be left on everyone she ever cared for, of which there's too many to name.

Shari was more than a homemaker. To so many, she was home. No matter where you lived or whose family you belonged to, when you were in her house, she was your grandma and you were home. She left us all too soon on April 11th, 2016.

Shari is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dale, one sister, Lila Ann Robedeaux, one brother, David White and brother-in-law, Richard Bailey.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Sam Yell of Mid-Town Tulsa, OK, Jennifer Yell of Owasso, OK, Elisa and husband Christopher Watkins of Bixby, OK, and Emily Yell of Owasso, OK. She leaves four sisters and two brothers, Nancy Bailey of Tulsa, OK, Susie White, Valerie White, and Billie White all of Tahlequah, OK, and Sonny White and Johnny White also of Tahlequah, OK. Shari’s legacy lives on in her beloved grandchildren, Hannah Yell, Edward Yell, Abigail Cook, Robert Watkins, Amber Watkins, Zachary Watkins, Addison Watkins, Maxwell Yell and Julian Yell, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
