Sherrie Burrows

Born in Bakersfield, CA, she was born the only daughter to Leon Junior and Norma Fay (Reese) Moore, on May 15th, 1949. She grew up with four brothers; Garry , Michael, Dwayne and David Moore. The family relocated from California to various places in Kansas, Louisiana, and eventually settled in Briartown, OK. She graduated from Porum High School in 1967. She enrolled in Beauty School and became a beautician. She worked the next 44 years at her salon,” Headquarters” and “Pat's Hairshaping.” She loved her clientele and was always ready to go the extra mile to care for them. She also sold real estate in the 70’s. When she wasn’t at her job, she devoted herself to her family and her church family at United Church of Wagoner. She was the proud mother of two daughters, Tracy Peters and Sheila Stevenson. On April 1st, 1995, she met and married her best friend and the sweetest man she knew, Richard Bo Burrows in Wagoner, OK. Together they shared all 30 years had to offer in prayer, praise and problem solving. She loved to socialize and visit with people whenever they came to the house or when they got together at church for coffee. There was nothing she liked better than a cup of coffee and sharing some news. She was always ready to jump in the car with Bo to attend camp meetings. She will be remembered for being generous , loving and never holding a grudge. Her hobbies included reading a good book and chasing grandchildren, the latter being by far her favorite. Her life was not without its problems, the death of her parents, the loss of a child, the loss of close relatives and friends, and the decline of her own health. Yet none of these hampered her belief that God was holding her future in the palm of His hands. With her final days on earth, she clung to the promises made to her by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For all she had planned to do in her future, she closed her eyes for the final time on May 16th, 2025, just one day after she turned 76 years old. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her and were lucky enough to call her family or friend.

She has gone on to celebrate with her grandparents, Fred and Beatrice (Southerland) Reese and Jack and Madge (Scott) Moore, her beloved mother and father, Leon Junior and Norma Fay (Reese) Moore, her daughter, Sheila Stevenson and her husband John Stevenson, and other family members, Uncle Bill Reese, Aunt Louella Dix, and two uncles, Uncle Charles Moore and Uncle Dan Moore.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of thirty years, Richard Bo Burrows of Hulbert, OK, one daughter, Tracy Peters of Billings, MT, and step son, Toby Burrows and wife Lisa of San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by her four brothers, Garry Moore and wife Pebble of Wagoner, OK, Michael Moore and wife Carol of Porter, OK, Dwayne Moore and wife Angie of Porter, OK, and David Moore and wife Donna of Wagoner, OK. She will live on in her 9 grandchildren, Stephanie Cantrell and Jaron Marshall of Hulbert, Keith Cantrell of Muskogee, Michele Cantrell and Stephanie Barnett of Oklahoma City, Natalie Williams of Claremore, Cheyenne Burrows of California, Tristan Burrows of California, Cullen Burrows of San Antonio, Chloe Burrows of San Antonio, and Alice Burrows of San Antonio. She also leaves her 5 adored great grandchildren, Alexandra Cantrell, Maximus Cantrell, Pacey Marshall, Paxton Marshall, and Hudson Burrows. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of church family and friends.

Funeral services for Sherrie Leona (Moore) Burrows will be conducted on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025 at 1:00 PM at United Church of Wagoner at 700 E. Cherokee St., Wagoner, OK 74467. Pastor Micah Wisdom will officiate. There will be a time of visitation with the family beginning at 10:00 AM also at the United Church, and taken to Briartown Cemetery to rest with her loved ones in peace.

Pallbearers for Sherrie include Josh Moore, Nathan Moore, Graham Moore, Aaron Moore, Seth Moore and Curtis Lear. Her honorary pallbearers include Josh Pachucki, Mark Qualls, Jeremy Smith, Carter Wisdom and Tiler Moore.
