Thelma Marie Fox was born on February 3rd, 1941 in Oklahoma, the daughter of Elmar Oscar and Mildred Marie (Hamlin) Teague. She grew up in the Cherokee County area and had five brothers and two sisters to keep her company, Arvil, Kenneth, Wayne, Rick, Rusty, Pam and Jule. They had a fun family that loved each other and enjoyed every day humor in life. She graduated from high school and met and married her best friend, John Alvin Fox. The household consisted of five sons and two daughters, Jeff, Wade, Mark, John, Cody, Kim and Jessica. In her younger days, she managed hotels and worked at Prestolite. Her happiness was being with her family, there was nothing better than making a family meal, or spending the day outdoors, simply enjoying each others company. She enjoyed reading a good book, listening to music to pass the day, and writing poetry. You always found her in the company of one of her fur babies. Kindness and compassion were important to her and she showed loved to anyone that needed her time and attention. She had a warm smile and made everyone feel at home. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren always made her proud and gave her a reason to smile. Life wasn’t always easy for Thelma, but she always did everything she could to make each day a little better than the day before. She lost three of her children and five brothers and one sister, but her faith gave her the strength to carry on. She passed from this life on August 3rd, 2023 at her home surrounded by those she loved. She was 82 years old and will be greatly missed.
