Tucson Westmoreland was born to Virgil Lee Westmoreland and Mildred Boswell on August the twenty-second in the year of our lord nineteen hundred and forty-seven. He was preceded in death by his father Virgil Lee Westmoreland, mother Mildred Boswell, adopted son Ronald Dale Robinson, sister Debra Westmoreland, and wife Linda Westmoreland.
Tucson was an active member of the Come and Dine Church, and he was an extremely social person. There was hardly a person he hadn’t met, and most of the time if he hadn’t met them he would get to know them. Throughout his life he had worked various places and did an assortment of things, but the one thing he looked back on the fondest was his time in the service.
He would often talk about his travels during his time in the army. His stay in Germany, the military base in Northern California where he said he could see the filming of Lost in Space the television series. He had said that he thought it was a real UFO out there and reported it to the guardsman. It was then called in and later they were informed that it was actually just the cast and crew of Lost in Space filming.
When he returned from the army he went to work several places. He went to work for Reed and Culver Funeral Home. He explained that Bob Ed Culver enjoyed playing pranks on everyone that worked for him. One of the more famous pranks he told us about was having the electricity turned off on him while he was in the Embalming Room. Since the room had no light he had to feel his way out. ‘Granny’ (Mrs) Culver talked him into staying while giving Bob Ed a piece of her mind.
Tucson went on to work several more places, and finally found a job at Kelly Brother’s Automotive Garage. There he worked for Sam Kelly and became lifelong friends with Gerald Kelly. He always talked about how much he valued his friendship with Gerald. He met his fifth and last wife Linda Westmoreland while working at Kelly Brothers. Although he often would say that he actually met her years before when her father came out to get a transmission they needed fixed. He told her that he saw her in pig tails and swore that one day he would marry her.
They were happily married for thirty-two years until Linda passed away due to complications caused by cancer. He said that he wouldn’t ever marry again because he doubted that he could ever find anyone as good as she was.
He leaves behind his sister Janet Rose, brother in law Troy Rose, brother Travis Foster, sister in law Rachel Foster, son Bryan Westmoreland, son Christopher Tucson Westmoreland, daughter in law Terina Westmoreland, multiple nieces, nephews, and friends.
He will be missed.
