Vicki Lynn Welch was born on Monday, December 7th, 1959, in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Connie and Tressa (Bullett) Welch. She grew up with three brothers, Randall, Brian, and Steven, and attended school in Tulsa at Booker T. Washington High School. She worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Cherokee Nation, a job she loved for over 15 years. She loved people and always had the time to give them one of her beautiful smiles and make them laugh any chance she had. She was always ready to go to a garage sale, yard sale or the Goodwill Stores to find a bargain. You were in luck if you got to have some of Vicki’s cooking, some of her famous meatloaf, spaghetti, enchiladas or wild onion dinners, she was a talent in the kitchen. She had no problem expressing herself, and likewise was always the first to lighten the mood with a joke, her laugh was infectious. Planting flowers and hunting arrowheads were favorite pastimes, and recently, the ocean had captured her attention with the surf, sand and lots of shells to collect. Vicki’s family was everything to her, she adored every child and grandchild, and was happiest when spending time with them. She felt that each of them was so very wonderful and special, she was proud of all they accomplished. A Christian by faith, she attended Calvary Indian Baptist as often as possible. She loved life and lived it to the fullest every day. She faced her difficulties in life with determination and grace, even when she became ill, she still put her best face forward, always showing a smile to those around her, even when she wasn’t feeling the best. The Lord called this wonderful daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend home from her labors on Monday, October 8th, 2018 in Tahlequah, OK, with those she loved by her side. Vicki was 58 years old.
She is preceded in death by her father, Connie Welch, her grandmothers, Sallie Pritchett and Della Bullett, her grandfather, Robert Bullett and her beloved son, Troy Bohlander Jr. in 2013.
