Vivian Paulene Buford
April 10, 1931 – March 18, 2020
Vivian Pauline Chitty–Buford was born on Sunday, April 10th, 1931 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Herman Albert and Carrie Mae (Schubert) Chitty Jackson. She grew up with two brothers and two sisters, Henry Chitty, James Chitty, Reba Gates, and Novelle Ferguson. She attended Hulbert school. She married Lloyd Edward Buford Sr. on January 26th, 1950 in Tahlequah, OK, and began her career as a homemaker in their home. She followed her husband to Colorado in 1960 and they raised their family there. Together they raised one son and three daughters, Lloyd Jr., Regena, Anita and Paula. Vivian was a woman of many talents, she had her hand in every part of the running of her household, from raising beautiful vegetable and flower gardens, to canning, raising chickens, guinea fowl and peacocks, and always having something on the stove for her hungry family to eat. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and reading. She was pleasant and well loved, but possessed a fire that kept her interesting. She loved spoiling her family with a big breakfast every chance she got. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put the needs of her family first, no matter what else she had going on in life. She loved spoiling her grand and great grandchildren every chance she got. Her family was the most important part of her life, as evidenced by the family photos on display in her home. Her husband passed from this life in 2008 after sharing 58 years of memories, happiness and adventures. Vivian then decided to return to Oklahoma to be near family, and joined her sisters making memories. She had accepted the Lord, Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and lived her best to please and make Him happy. She passed from this life on March 18th, 2020 in Tahlequah, OK, surrounded by those who knew and loved her. She was 88 years old and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, mother and father, her brothers, Henry and James Chitty, her maternal grandfather, Harve Sansing, maternal grandmother, Mary Frances Schubert, paternal grandfather Miles A.
