A. Margaret Petroff Wilson Drake (Mickie) died peacefully on May 22, 2019 at the age of 93. She was the daughter of John & Therese Petroff of Manchester, New Hampshire. Mickie was predeceased by her husband Harrison P. Wilson and her later in life husband & partner, Jack Drake. She was a first generation American. Her parents were born in Albania & raised her in the orthodox faith.
Mickie is survived by four children: Diane Wilson of Tallahassee, Harrison "Rick" Wilson (wife, Sarouth) of Moore Park, CA, Christopher Wilson (wife, Patty) of Tallahassee & Joanne Zaritsky (husband, Stewart) of Tallahassee. Her treasured grandchildren: Kristin McNeely & Brian Wilson, of Tallahassee. She also accepted her step-grandchildren and made them her own, Molly Taber, Alex Greer & James Greer and Cameron Feaster. Mickie was predeceased by her cherub & granddaughter, Kara McNeely of Tallahassee. Mickie is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews in Alexandria, Va, Bournemouth, England & Connecticut.
Mickie attended Manchester Central High School '43 and and went to college at the University of New Hampshire, class of '49 graduating with a BA. She worked throughout her life as she raised her four children. She worked in retail and in offices, as well as a real estate agent in Palm Beach Gardens, FL . After she retired and moved to Tallahassee, FL, Mickie worked with Kerr & Downs Research. She assisted in conducting research and questionnaires for the company and was often their top producing research interviewer. Folks loved speaking on the phone with Mickie. She had a warm and sparkly personality that really made you want to be around her and it came through the phone. Mickie was also given the very prestigious award of Volunteer of the Year for Hawks Rise Elementary. Her grandchildren were very important to her. They lived together and she wanted to enjoy each moment with them.
Mickie's hobbies included playing bridge & cards with friends, seeing her distant family on Facebook and writing handwritten notes. Mickie had a passion for music and dance.
When she was young was a can-can girl. She loved opera. She sang with the Palm Beach Opera and shared her love of opera whenever she could. She loved the stories & the music. She was a fabulous cook, greek food being her specialty.
Mickie loved. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. Her friends, family and the college students she worked with will remember her smile, her laugh and her unlimited compliments. When you left her presence, you knew you were loved. She will be so very missed by all who knew & laughed with her.

A service to honor her memory will be May 28, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Holy Mother of God,1645 Phillips Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
