Alice Lee French

Alice was born in Hoboken, Georgia, the oldest daughter and second oldest child of Adam and Maysie Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents; her older brother, Wesley; her brother, Gaines; and her sister, Barbara McDonald.

Alice is survived by her husband of 44 years, Curtis French; her three daughters, Cathy Heath (Jimmy), Karen Beecher (Johnny) and Bobbie Gail Johnson (whose husband Dennis passed away early this year); and her son, David Rusich (Trina) of Edison, Georgia. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kevin, Dane, John and Melanie; and six great grandchildren, Lilly, Leah, Ava, Mason, Emma and Dalton; as well as two brothers, Frank and Johnny; and one sister, Debrah.

Alice is also survived by her beloved dog, Charlie, as well as two cats - Bob and Lizzie.

Alice was a retired court services worker with the state of Georgia. She met her husband, Curtis, in Tifton, Georgia juvenile court, when she was called to testify by Curtis, who at the time was an Assistant District Attorney in the Tifton Circuit. They married two years later, on May 29, 1982, in Atlanta, Georgia. They moved to Tallahassee in 1994 and have lived there since.

Alice loved to travel - she and Curtis travelled all over the west, the midwest, and the south for as long as her health permitted.

Alice also made porcelain dolls - cast and baked the molds, painted and dressed them and put them together.

Alice also loved to cook and she was a superb cook.

Perhaps most importantly, Alice loved people and they loved her - she was the sweetest person ever. She will be missed by many people.

At her request, Alice will be cremated. We will not have a formal funeral, but will have a celebration of life Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32308, from 12pm to 3pm.

This will be a casual celebration, no need to dress up, drinks and finger food will be served. We plan to display pictures, a couple of her dolls, and other personal reminders of her life.
