Allan Lee Underwood passed away on December 19, 2020, at age 76 in Tallahassee, Florida, after a brief illness. He was born on February 18, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio. He enlisted in the Air Force at the age of 18 and spent five and a half years in the service, including tours of duty in Puerto Rico and Okinawa, Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1968 and returned to Melbourne, Florida, where he earned an Associates of Arts degree. He moved to Tallahassee in 1970, and worked in the restaurant, photography, and audiovisual industries throughout his civilian life. He married the love of his life, Denise Annette Tucker, on October 8, 1983. After he retired, he opened his own audiovisual company, Allan’s Audio Visual. Allan is survived by his wife Denise of 37 years, his younger brother William Underwood, and two nephews, Cyrus James (“Rus”) Underwood IV and Christopher Underwood. He was predeceased by his parents, Cyrus James Jr. and Kathrine Lee Underwood, and older brother, Cyrus James (“Jay”) Underwood III. The Underwood family will be holding a memorial service at Culley’s on Timberlane in Tallahassee on Saturday, May 15 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or any Veteran’s affairs organization.
