Annabelle Joyce Cooper Kuncicky, 96, of Tallahassee, passed away August 12, 2018. She was born in Farina, Illinois on February 5, 1922. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Cooper and her mother, Ida “Gussie” Cooper; sister, Imogene Simpson; brother, Leon Cooper and husband, Ernest Louis Kuncicky. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
As a young adult she worked as the Postmistress in Farina, Illinois during World War II. After moving to Tallahassee in 1948, she had the opportunity to work at the District Court of Appeals for the Marshall’s Service. In her younger days she loved dancing and swimming at the lake. Her favorite memory was when her grandmother taught her to play the piano.
She is survived by three sons, David (Steffie) of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Rick (Ann) of St. Augustine and Gerald (Tobi) Kuncicky of Tallahassee. She also has three grandchildren, Daniel (Meredith) of Tallahassee, Helen Bailey of Cambridge, Massachusetts and Rachel Cardy (Andrew) of Jacksonville, Florida.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Westminster Oaks and Big Bend Hospice for their loving care. A reception in her honor will be held on November 10, 2018 from 2-4pm at Westminster Oaks in the Fireside Lounge.
