

Annie Glover Dykes, 93, of Tallahassee, passed away Saturday (3/14) at the Margaret Z Dozier Hospice House after a brief illness. She was born December 31, 1921, a 3rd generation Leon County native. She was employed in her early years by the City of Tallahassee where she worked for then City Manager Malcolm Yancey.One of her duties was to interview job applicants and this is where she met her future husband of 59 years, Joe B. Dykes when he asked her for a date after his interview. She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church for 60 years, where she taught children's Sunday School in the 60's and 70's. Annie is preceded in death by her husband Joe B. Dykes, Jr., three sisters and one brother. She is survived by her daughter: JoEllen Dykes (Gary) Brown, three grandchildren: Jacob (Heather) Brown, Jennifer (Jim) Naff, Jessica Brown; two great grandchildren: Grady & Mallory Brown, all of Tallahassee.A private service is planned.For friends who wish, the family suggests memorial donations to the Big Bend Hospice, http://www.bigbendhospice.org/memorial.html, in lieu of flowers.
