Ken Womble, age 69, passed away on December 17, 2018, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, surrounded by friends and family.
Ken worked for 40 years at Florida State University after attending FSU as a student. He was a Graphic Design Artist in the university’s Biology Department, and had his work published in everything from educational journals to National Geographic and Science Magazine. Ken’s two great passions were music and the Great Smokey Mountains. He loved live music and was a regular at Bradfordville Blues Club (formerly Dave’s CC Club). This harkened back to his youth, when he was the lead singer of the popular Orlando-area band, The 13th Dimension. Ken’s favorite place on earth was the Great Smokey Mountains. He and his best friend, Wayne Ryan, would vacation there, where Ken loved to hike and photograph the stunning natural beauty.
Along with friends, Ken is survived by his father, Arthur Womble, his son, Ken Womble Jr., and his grandchildren Lucas and Evie Womble.
