

Born Barbara Jean Dill in Glen Allen, Mississippi, February 14, 1931 to Jack and Eddie Lee Dill. She graduated from Bass High School and Catholic Business School in Greenville, Mississippi.
She married Wally Hoy in 1951 and they were happily married for 39 years. Together they owned and managed radio stations: WTAL in Tallahassee, Florida, KDXE in Little Rock, Arkansas, WESY in Greenville, Mississippi, and WCAT in Panama City, Florida. After Wally's death she later married Gerald Castardo and they were happily married for 8 years.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and business woman.
Barbara enjoyed her affiliation with the Panama City Beach Rotary (past President), Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce (former Ambassador), Bay Point Women’s Club, Bay County Ditsy Prima Donna Red Hatters, and Bay Point Yacht Club. She received the Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship Award and was also appointed a “Colonel” by Governor Wendall H. Ford of Kentucky.
Her pass time was spent with her favorite people; her dear family and friends. She also thrived on helping others, dancing, and of course her high heel shoes!
She is survived by sons Patrick Edward Hoy and wife Karen Schroeder Hoy, Charles Desmond Hoy and wife Rebecca Schuessler Hoy, and a daughter Terralynn Hoy. Grandchildren Kilty Noelle Bryson,(Robert), Kasey Hoy Diehl, (Felton), Charles Patrick Hoy, Benjamin Chase Morgan, Pierce Schuessler and three great grandchildren Rainey Hunter Bryson, Porter Wallace Holmes Bryson, and Gage Desmond Diehl. Sister Dianne Doss of Tupelo, Ms., brother Michael Dill of Greenville, Ms., and sister-in-law Mary Dill of Natchez, Ms., 19 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by infant sons, Wallace Rhodes “Little Wally” Hoy and Thomas “Tommy” Hoy, husband Wallace Desmond Hoy and husband Gerald Richard Castardo; her parents, Jack and Eddie Lee Dill and her brother Jackie Dill.
Pallbearers: Grandsons: Charles Patrick Hoy, Benjamin Morgan, Pierce Schuessler, Robert Bryson, III, Felton Diehl, and Nephews: Todd French and Scott French, and family friend Matt Warren.
Visitation is at Culley's Funeral Home on Riggins Road on Thursday October 17, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm in Blessed Sacrament Church on Friday, October 18, 2013, graveside services will follow the Mass at Roselawn Cemetery on Piedmont Drive in Tallahassee.
