Beatrice Stewart Magee, 93, passed peacefully into the hands of our Lord on Wednesday January 18, 2012.
She was born in Waynesboro, Mississippi on January 27th, 1918. Upon graduation from high school, Beatrice moved to Charleston, South Carolina finding wartime employment at the Charleston Port of Embarkation. It was there she met Major Robert F. Magee. They eloped in Monks Corner S.C. on August 15 of 1945, V.J day. She left family and friends and moved to Robert's home in Westfield, New Jersey. Bea and Bob ultimately lived in four states and raised two children, retiring to Tallahassee in 1997.
A beloved mother and grandmother, Bea is survived by a daughter, Patricia Thompson (husband Stanley) of Shelbyville, KY; a son, Robert Alan Magee (wife Julia) of Tallahassee; three grand children, Jacqueline Thompson Macdonald (husband David) NYC, Kyle Magee and Lindsay Magee ( Tallahassee).
Memorial Services will be held, 4:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Tallahassee, FL.
