Bessie Lee Massey, 93, of Tallahassee died Wednesday (12/2) at a local nursing home. A native of Belzoni, Mississippi she came to Tallahassee in 1975 from Chicago, IL. Bessie had worked for the State of Florida as a bookkeeper for the EPA. She had been a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church here in Tallahassee and also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Memphis Tenn. Chapter. She enjoyed crafts, particularly painting, sewing and crocheting.
Preceded in death by her husband Creed Massey, survivors include her daughter: Shirley Ebeling (Nevin) Edson of Tallahassee, brother: James Foster of Hazel, Kentucky; grandchildren: Kristy (John) Newland, Spencer (Kellie) Ebeling, Tracey (John) Taylor; Brent (Delia) Edson, Scott (Raven) Edson; great grandchildren: Elizabeth & Matthew Newland, Kara, Megan, & Spencer Ebeling; Colton & Drew Taylor, Dani, Brandon, and Rhyse Edson.
