Beth lived a life defined by a love for Jesus, faith, music, and devotion to her family. She began her career as an elementary school teacher, where she shared her patience, kindness, and love of learning. Later, she devoted herself to raising her family, creating a loving home, and providing steadfast support to her husband, Charles, throughout his years of ministry as a Lutheran pastor. Charles and Beth were a lifelong team. Beth’s strong and resilient character stems from growing up on a small farm in South Dakota. If you needed prayer, you wanted her in your corner. She knew how to give the gift of love, and this gift is evident in the lives of her husband and children.
Music was one of Beth’s passions. She loved sharing her gifts through playing the organ, leading church vocal and bell choirs, playing the dulcimer, and singing praises. Her faith and love of music were woven throughout her life and enriched the lives of those around her.
Above all, Beth cherished her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Kosberg, her children, Robert Kosberg (Rebecca), Aaron Kosberg (Kristin), Sarah Kosberg, Jonathan Kosberg, 9 grandchildren (Corrynn, Josh, Abby, Erik, Jadon, Michael, Asher, Isabelle, Juliet), 4 great-grandchildren (Leo, Ellie, Emersyn, Charlotte), her 4 sisters (Carol, Joy, Mary, Angie), along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.
Beth will be remembered as a loving and caring person whose warmth, compassion, and gentle spirit made everyone feel valued and seen. She was beautiful inside and out. She had a unique ability to come alongside you and enable you to be more than what you could be on your own. She had quiet strength that could hold steady in tough times. This strength comforted her family in life and enabled her family to comfort her as she passed away.
While her family mourns her loss, they also celebrate a life well lived—a life filled with faith, service, music, and love. The lessons she taught, the songs she shared, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
