Betty J Blue

Betty was born in Marion, North Carolina, on April 8, 1945, to Robert and Bonnie Ledford and is survived by her husband Bill Blue of Tallahassee, FL, daughter Erin Blue of Columbus, Ohio, and brother Robert Ledford of Ocala, FL.

Betty’s integrity, honesty, and caring made her a gift to every life she touched. Her passion for teaching and education was evident throughout her career. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Florida in 1973 and a Master of Science in Educational Administration/Leadership in 1992 from Florida State University. Betty taught English and Psychology in Walton County Florida from 1973-1986, and then moved with her family to Tallahassee to work for Florida’s Department of Education, retiring in 2008. Betty enjoyed travels throughout Europe and the Caribbean with her family.

A celebration of her life will be held at 6:00pm, Saturday, April 2nd, at Dorothy B. Oven Park, 3205 Thomasville Rd., Tallahassee, FL 32308.
