Betty Jean Sasser, 83, a long- time resident of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away July 1st, 2018. She was born in Lulu, Florida on January 28th, 1935 and graduated from Columbia County High School, Lake City Florida.
She was married to the late Sargent Arthur P. Sasser of the Florida Highway Patrol for 42 years.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Betty Sasser enjoyed ceramics and was an avid reader. She derived joy from interacting with her friends, neighbors and family. Betty Sasser (Granny) was loved and respected by everyone that knew her and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by; son, Gordon Sasser and his wife Amanda Sasser, Faithlon (Faye) Hamburger, and Shannon Clark. Grandchildren; Katelyn (Katie) Pouncy and her husband Kyle Pouncy, Victoria (Torie) Clark and her Fiancé Rico Wiggins, Aaron Clark, Cedar Clark, Destiny Sasser, and Abigail (Abby) Sasser. Great grandchildren; Collin Pouncy, Anayah Wiggins, and Bentley Wiggins.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Arthur P. Sasser Sr.; a son, Arthur Preston Sasser Jr. "Preston"; brothers; Theodore (Ted) Baumgardner Jr. , Graham (Bud) Baumgardner , Freeman Baumgardner , and Donald Baumgardner.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 7th, 2018 at Roselawn Cemetery. The Family will receive friends on Friday July 6th 2018, from 5-7PM at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home at 1737 Riggins Road. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Camp Suwannee at Advent Christian Village (11063 County Road 136 Live Oak, Florida 32060).
