Dr. Calvin J. Vice Sr.

Calvin J. Vice, Sr., 75, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 in the care of Hospice.

He was born on Oct. 15, 1945 in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of the late James and Dorothy Vice. In 1964 he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving as a radio operator until 1967. He was a VietNam Veteran. On Sept. 5, 1967 he married the former Sara Cashion, who predeceased him on November 27, 1997. On June 9, 2000 he married the former Murlene Lupo who survives.

Mr. Vice worked for the State of Florida: Agency for Health Care until his retirement. He was a member of Celebration Baptist Church, Tallahassee, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Little Valley, NY.

He is survived by two sons with his wife, Sara: Calvin (Michelle) J. Vice, Jr. of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Christopher (Sharon) Vice of Tallahassee. He leaves behind 6 grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters and a brother: Lynelle Case of Little Valley, NY, Roger (Linda) Vice of Arlington Heights, Illinois, and Rebecca (Dale) King of Little Valley, NY.

Memorial Service will be held at Celebration Baptist Friday, 26th of February at 11:00 am. To view the service via live stream please visit

Cal was such a wonderful man and great friend to my parents. He was a joy to be around and I'm blessed to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with Merlene and all of his friends and family.
