

He was born on October 26, 1925 in Crawfordville, FL, to the late John Herman Rehwinkel and Carle Rehwinkel. Carl was raised by his father and loving step-mother, Ruby Rehwinkel. Carl was married 62 years to the late Jean R. Rehwinkel.
Carl was a WWII veteran, serving in the Pacific theater as an Army MP and as a perimeter guard for General Douglas MacArthur. Carl received his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University and completed his Master’s degree at the University of Florida. Carl devoted years of service teaching vocational agriculture in high schools in Marion and Citrus counties and then served as director of vocational technical education centers in Withlacoochee and at Lively Vocational Technology Center in Tallahassee, Florida.
Carl served many years in community service roles such as Future Farmers of America, Lion’s Club, Woodmen of the World, and was a retired deacon of Bradfordville First Baptist Church. He also frequently joked he was a fraternal member of “Alpha Grabba Hoe.”
Survivors include daughter Susan Rehwinkel of Tallahassee; son Carl (Al) Rehwinkel and wife, Barbara of Tallahassee; granddaughter, Allison Rehwinkel and fiancé Nathaniel Gonzales; sister, Ida Frank Boatright, sister-in-law, Becky Arnold and husband, Rex of White Oak, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and close friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Culley's on Timberlane Road on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Culley's on Timberlane Road on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
