Carolyn "Pud" Nedley Williams died on January 27, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19. She was 84 years old and a lifelong resident of Tallahassee. Pud was born on November 6, 1936 to Fenton C. and Thelma Kelly Nedley. Pud was also a loved step-daughter of Connie H. Waites and sister of John A. Nedley, all of whom predeceased her.
Pud is survived by her husband of 65 years, Herschel Williams. They were high school sweethearts, marrying shortly after graduation from Florida High School where Pud was a varsity cheerleader. She is also survived by sons, Greg Williams (Beth) and Mike Williams (Kim); adored grandson, Addison Williams; sisters, Paula Moyer Jones (Greg) and Connie Bozeman (Lonnie). She also leaves behind many sister and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will greatly miss her.
Pud was generous to a fault, kind and never met a stranger. She sent cards and small gifts to family and friends and was an endearing correspondent. She loved to cook and many profited from her generous gifts of delicious cakes, cookies and fudge. She was also a wonderful gardener, talking to her plants to encourage their finest display. Her yard was a showcase and her home, her pride and joy.
Due to the virus pandemic, a private family graveside service was held at MeadowWood Memorial Park.
The family is very grateful to Dr. Ryan Hill and the nursing staff of Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare for their compassionate care during her final illness.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Shriners Hospitals for Children or your favorite charity.
