Charles served briefly with the Army Air Corps as part of the occupational forces in Germany after WWII. He would later retire in 1968 as a TSGT from the United States Air Force. Charles moved to Tallahassee in 1976 where he worked for Centel until he retired once again in 1993.
He is survived by Hazel, his devoted wife of 57 years; sons: Brian Bayne (Marsha) of Tallahassee, FL, and Patrick Bayne (Karen) of Houston, TX; grandchildren: Alex, Cara, Lauren, David, Vittoria, and his sister Jean Butler of Athens, GA.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at Culley’s MeadowWood Timberlane Road Chapel on Sunday, February 2nd from 10:00am to 11:00am, followed by a celebration of his life at 11:00am. Interment will be held at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park.
