Charles “Rusty” Stone, 87, of Tallahassee died Sunday (1/15) at his home. A native of Altha, FL, he came to the Tallahassee area 15 years ago from the Grand Ridge area. A Master Seaman, Rusty had owned and operated a Charter Boat company on the Gulf and had previously been a member of the Charter Boat Association and also the Fox Hunters Club. For relaxation he enjoyed fresh water fishing and fox hunting. He was a veteran and had served in the Marines.
Preceded in death by a son: Chuck, daughter: Karen and brother: George F.; he is survived by sons: Richard and James of Panama City; daughters: Kathy and Georgia both also of Panama City; a sister: Oveda Mantooth of Signal Hill, CA; long time partner Carolyn Nix; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
